There’s something really important for me that I want you to now:
The name of the kid in the photo is 14 year old Berkin Elvan. He got shot with a gas cannister by an unknown police during Gezi protests on 16th June, 2013. He wasn’t a protester, he was only out there to get some bread. He stayed in coma for 269 days. Unfortunately he died today, at 7am, only weighting 16 kilos. People had been waiting outside of the hospital for him and police attacked them too. Another protester got shot in the head like our Berkin and he is unconcious now. Right now, a lot of protests are being held at universities, there are going to be protests at 7pm tonight in a lot of cities and districts. So many people, including Erdoğan’s voters, still don’t know who Berkin is. They think he died because he was throwing rocks at police. He was innocent like all the other protesters. He was a child and he isn’t with us anymore.
What I want you to know: Be aware of the brutal police attacks in Turkey. Be aware of the dictator, Erdoğan, who is responsible for Berkin’s and 7 other people’s death during Gezi protests. (Read the news) (x)
